The suspension of IAS Gaurav Dahiya, who was involved in a controversy over his extramarital relationship with a girl from Delhi, has been cancelled. The Gujarat government has reappointed him as additional development commissioner in Gandhinagar.
IAS Dahiya and Leenu Singh’s marital controversy
Gaurav Dahiya, a 2010-batch IAS officer, was involved in an extramarital affair with a woman named Leenu Singh from Delhi. Singh had accused Dahiya of bigamy and cheating. The matter had also reached the Gujarat Women's Commission.
Suspension of the IAS
The state government had formed a committee headed by IAS Sunaina Tomar. Dahiya was suspended in 2019 by the state government, followed by a report of the committee. However, according to Dahiya’s lawyer, all the allegations made by Singh have been proven false by the court.
The Delhi high court has directed Leenu Singh to remove all texts, posts, and other literature related to Dahiya from social media.
