An IndiGo flight on the Madinah–Hyderabad sector was diverted to Ahmedabad on Thursday afternoon after the airline received a bomb threat, prompting an emergency response and heightened security checks at the airport, officials said.

According to airport sources, the flight raised an alert mid-route and sought priority landing at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, where it touched down safely. Passengers were immediately disembarked, and the aircraft was moved to an isolation bay for mandatory screening by the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS).

Security agencies, CISF personnel and local police launched a coordinated inspection soon after the aircraft landed. Officials said that procedures laid down for such high-risk alerts are being strictly adhered to.

The incident comes barely 48 hours after another IndiGo flight — operating on the Kuwait–Hyderabad route — was diverted to Mumbai on Tuesday following a similar threat call.

Authorities in Ahmedabad said that an investigation has been initiated into Thursday’s threat call, and the aircraft will be cleared only after all security checks are completed.
