A hit-and-run incident was reported near the Gulbai Tekra three-road junction in Ahmedabad on Tuesday morning, resulting in the death of a 54-year-old man after a speeding two-wheeler rammed into his motorcycle and fled the scene.

The deceased has been identified as Rajankumar Ashwinbhai Shah, a resident of the Ghatlodiya area. According to details, Shah was on his way to work on January 6, at around 10 am when the accident occurred near Goyal Tower, close to the Gulbai Tekra crossroads.

Police said an unidentified two-wheeler, being ridden at high speed and in a reckless manner, crashed into Shah’s motorcycle with great force. The impact threw him onto the road, causing severe head injuries.

Locals rushed to the spot soon after the collision, but the rider responsible abandoned the victim and escaped without offering any help. Eyewitnesses immediately alerted the 108 emergency ambulance service.

Shah, who was critically injured and bleeding, was shifted to the trauma centre at Sola Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead at around 10.45 am.

Following the incident, Shah’s elder brother, Pareshbhai Shah, lodged a formal complaint against the unidentified rider. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to trace the absconding accused.
