History-sheeter threatens to jump from 5th floor in Odhav after police try to arrest him

In a dramatic turn of events on Saturday morning, wanted accused Abhishek Tomar threatened to jump off the fifth floor of a building in Odhav, Ahmedabad if the police attempted to arrest him. The incident occurred around 11.55 am, prompting an urgent response from law enforcement and emergency services.

As per sources, police personnel had reached Shivam Awas Yojana flats in Odhav to apprehend Tomar over an ongoing criminal case. However, upon spotting the police team, Tomar allegedly locked himself inside a room and climbed on to the ledge of the balcony, issuing threats to leap from the building if officers attempted to detain him.

Senior officials of the local police station, along with a crisis response team and Ahmedabad fire brigade personnel, were rushed to the scene to manage the situation.

According to officials, a team from the Ahmedabad City Crime Branch went to the Odhav flats to apprehend Tomar in connection with a kidnapping case registered in Krishnanagar. On spotting the police, Tomar reportedly ran into a flat and locked himself inside.

As officers surrounded the premises, the accused stepped out onto the balcony ledge and issued a stark warning, threatening to leap from the fifth floor if they attempted to arrest him.

Tomar, who is wanted in at least seven criminal cases, including kidnapping and assault, remained perched on the edge for several tense moments. The situation prompted the fire department to rush to the scene as a precautionary measure.

Senior police officials confirmed that negotiations continued and appropriate safety measures were in place. After prolonged negotiations, the police managed to bring Tomar down safely. He was taken into custody for further investigation.
