Images of the two choppers in Ahmedabad’s airspace raised alarm among netizens and led to widespread speculation.
The helicopters, reportedly Leonardo AW139 models operated by Malaysia’s AGL/ALCC company, landed due to low fuel, according to official reports.
The flight path, which involved departing from Pakistan and entering Indian airspace despite a current India-Pakistan airspace closure, raised questions online.
The helicopters were carrying four pilots and two flight engineers and are now scheduled to continue towards Malaysia via Indore, Ranchi, and Kolkata.
Initial claims about the helicopters being of Pakistan origin or potentially heading to Ahmedabad with unclear intent were later dismissed. As per NewsX.com and other reports, the aircraft are registered in the US, not Pakistan.
Users on social media contributed to the confusion, with many speculating on the helicopters’ identity and route before more accurate details emerged.
Authorities have confirmed that there was no Pakistani connection beyond the helicopters’ departure from Karachi.
