The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of Madhya Pradesh, the remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar, some parts of Uttar Pradesh, most parts of Uttarakhand, and some parts of Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh on June 30.
According to the IMD, conditions remain favourable for the monsoon to advance further into some more parts of the North Arabian Sea, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, the entire Daman & Diu, the remaining parts of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh, the entire Jammu & Kashmir, most parts of Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Punjab, and some parts of Rajasthan during the next two to three days.
Heavy Rainfall Outlook
The IMD has forecast fairly widespread to widespread rainfall over Gujarat region from July 3 to 6, and Saurashtra & Kutch on July 5 and 6.
Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Gujarat region on July 1 and again on July 3 and 4, and Saurashtra & Kutch on June 30, July 2 and 3, and July 6.
The IMD has also forecast isolated very heavy rainfall over Gujarat region on June 30, July 2 and July 5-6, and Saurashtra & Kutch during July 4 and 5.
The IMD said isolated extremely heavy rainfall is likely over the south Gujarat region on July 3 and 4.

Heavy rainfall measuring 7-11 cm was recorded at isolated places over Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Assam & Meghalaya, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat Region and South Interior Karnataka.

Isolated thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely over Gujarat, Saurashtra & Kutch from June 30 to July 4.
Fishermen Advised Not to Venture into Sea
The IMD has advised fishermen not to venture into the Arabian Sea along and off the south Gujarat coast on June 30, and along and off the Gujarat, Konkan, Goa and Karnataka coasts, adjoining east-central and northeast Arabian Sea, Kerala coasts and the Lakshadweep area from June 30 to July 3.
The advisory also covers the Somalia coast and parts of the southwest and central Arabian Sea from June 30 to July 5, the Oman coast from July 1 to 3, and parts of the central Arabian Sea from July 1 to 4.

The IMD warned that the heavy rainfall may lead to localized flooding of roads, waterlogging in low-lying areas, closure of underpasses, reduced visibility, traffic disruption in major cities, minor damage to kutcha roads, damage to vulnerable structures, localized landslides and mudslides, damage to horticulture and standing crops due to inundation, and possible riverine flooding in some river catchments.
