Heavy rainfall alert issued for Gujarat: IMD predicts intense showers over next 5 days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow and orange alerts for multiple districts in Gujarat, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next five days. The alerts cover more than 15 districts across Central, South Gujarat, and Saurashtra regions.
According to officials, scattered rainfall will continue in parts of Saurashtra and South Gujarat even as Central Gujarat battles high temperatures. However, widespread and intense rainfall is expected to impact many areas starting today.
June 14
Districts including Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Rajkot, Amreli, Gir Somnath, Junagadh, Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Dang, and Valsad are under a yellow alert for thunderstorms and heavy rain.
June 15
An orange alert has been issued for Amreli, Bhavnagar, Navsari, and Valsad due to expected very heavy rain with thunderstorms.
Other districts including Rajkot, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Dahod, Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, and Dang are under a yellow alert.
June 16
An orange alert continues for Rajkot, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Surat, Navsari, and Valsad.
Botad, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, Anand, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Bharuch, Narmada, Tapi, and Dang are under a yellow alert.
Wind speeds between 30–40 km/h are expected during this period.
June 17
12 districts including Ahmedabad, Anand, Botad, Rajkot, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, and Valsad will experience scattered heavy rainfall, with yellow alerts issued.
June 18-19
On June 18, Kutch, Jamnagar, Devbhumi Dwarka, Porbandar, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, and Dang will see continued rainfall.
On June 19, alerts are in place for Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Dang, and Valsad.
Fishermen and travelers are advised to proceed with caution as storms may impact visibility and road conditions.
