Heavy rain washes away road in Savli, villagers forced to take alternative routes

The first spell of monsoon rain has exposed shortcomings in pre-monsoon preparedness in Vadodara district, with a key road in Savli taluka being washed away and disrupting connectivity for several villages.

According to available information, heavy rainfall late on Thursday night led to waterlogging in agricultural fields across parts of Savli taluka. The strong flow of rainwater washed away the road connecting Dhantej and Sadhapura villages, bringing traffic movement on the route to a halt.

The damage has affected daily commuting for residents of Dhantej, Sadhapura and nearby villages. Students, office-goers, traders and farmers will now have to rely on alternative routes until repair work is completed and the road is restored.
