Heavy rainfall has lashed Gujarat since late Saturday evening, causing difficulties for farmers and residents as waterlogging spread across several areas. A major incident was reported from Mahisagar district, where an entire stretch of road was washed away.

According to reports, the road connecting Bhamri to Mangadh in Santarampur taluka collapsed due to continuous rainfall. The damage was so severe that it appeared as if no road had ever existed there.

During the collapse, a car passing through was swept away along with the road. The Santarampur Mamlatdar’s team rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations to recover the vehicle. However, as of now, no information has emerged regarding the driver or possible occupants.

Mud and boulders had rolled down from the hillside onto the road, creating a dangerous situation. Authorities have since closed the road for local traffic to prevent further accidents.
