Heatwave tightens grip on Gujarat: Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar brace for over 43°C amid yellow alert

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast severe heat in the state for the next six days, especially in the north and central Gujarat. According to the forecast, the temperature in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar has reached 43°C, disrupting public lives. 

Today, a 'yellow alert' has been declared in Ahmedabad and the temperature is expected to be around 41°C. However, the situation will become more serious from tomorrow for the next six days. 

There’s been a cyclonic circulation system that has been activated over North East Rajasthan. Due to this, the atmosphere is likely remain completely dry and heat will increase as the wind direction changes. The average temperature is likely to rise by another 2°C to 3°C in the coming days.
