Gujarat’s worrisome heart issues prevail, five die

As heart attacks continue to spur in the state, five individuals have succumbed to heart attacks in Gujarat.
Avinash Vaishnav, a 22-year-old doctor working at a private hospital in Rajkot, died of a heart attack on Dec 10.
Vaishnav, who usually had night shifts at the hospital on Kuvadva Road, returned on Dec 10 afternoon from his shift.
He was reportedly supposed to report to another hospital in Shapar, where he was pursuing an internship.
On Dec 11, at noon, he went to sleep after his night shift and asked everyone not to disturb his sleep.
In the evening, Vaishnav’s father tried to wake him up, but he did not respond. He was shifted to the same private hospital where he worked, and doctors declared him dead. Dr Sanat Charya said that Dr Avinash was already dead when he was brought to the hospital.
Vaishnav had no history of any disease or chest pain. The police investigation revealed that the cause of death was a heart attack.
In a separate incident from Jamnagar, a 44-year-old fell unconscious at a crowded market on the bank of the Rangmati River.
Keshavji Maghodiya, a resident of Amra taluka in Jamnagar, went shopping at the Rangmati river market. Maghodiya experienced a sudden ache in the chest and went unconscious. When he was shifted to a government hospital, he was declared dead. The B-division police investigated the case.
