Gujarat’s Special Intensive Revision of electoral roll begins Tuesday to continue till December 4

A Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list will commence in Ahmedabad district from November 4 and continue till December 4. During this period, booth-level officers (BLOs) will visit households to collect details and fill out enumeration forms.

As per the schedule, the enumeration process will be completed by December 4, followed by the publication of a provisional voter list on December 9.

Voters will then be able to file claims and objections between December 9 and January 8 for any corrections or inclusions. Hearings and verification of these claims will be conducted till January 31, and the final voter list will be released on February 7, 2026.

During this revision exercise, voters can verify their names and other details in the electoral roll. A total of 12 documents, including an Indian passport and birth certificate, will be accepted as valid proof of identity for inclusion in the voter list.

To ensure greater accessibility, especially for women, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities, the Election Commission will also enlist the support of volunteer groups to assist in the smooth conduct of the revision process.
