Killer highways: Gujarat sees 13 deaths in 3 accidents on a single day

In a tragic turn of events, three separate accidents took the lives of 13 people on the highways of Gujarat, and left many injured.
All these accidents occurred on Oct 10 in different cities across the state.
The first accident took place in Dahod involving a truck and an autorickshaw and took six lives. In Surendranagar, a truck and a car were involved in an accident that left five dead.
While in Jamnagar, two cars rammed into each other, killing two.

Six members of a family were travelling in an autorickshaw on Dahod’s Garbada-Alirajpur highway when they met with an accident with a truck near a lake in Patiya Zol village.
The members have been identified as Naresh, Rekha, Pavan, Raghav, Mukesh, and Kevan of Garbada Taluka’s Zari Buzarg village, located in the Gujarat-Madhya Pradesh border region.
All the six died on the spot, while the rickshaw driver, who sustained serious injuries, has been shifted to a Dahod hospital.
The family had gone to Garbada in an autorickshaw in the early hours of Oct 10 due to an ongoing legal case. On their way back, the auto rammed into an incoming truck, travelling towards Dahod from Madhya Pradesh.
Five killed in fatal Surendranagar truck-car accident

Five were killed in an accident between a truck and a car that took place in Zamar village in Surendranagar’s Lakhtar Taluka on Oct 10.
A couple travelling to a temple in Muli Taluka’s Palasa village with their children and their driver died in the accident.
The car with Narsingh Loladiya and his family, rammed into a truck and skidded off-road.
In this accident, Loladiya, his wife Geeta, their elder daughter Payal, their younger daughter Gopi, and driver Maulik were identified as the deceased in the accident.
Their daughter and son, Shraddha and Mahendra, were severely injured.

Another accident that took place near Changa village in Jamnagar involved a couple travelling by car, which rammed into another car carrying three.
Two of them lost their lives on the spot, while the three injured were shifted to Jamnagar’s Guru Gobindsingh Hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Kanti and Sharda, residents of Jamnagar’s Dodhiya village. They were travelling to a temple in Rampar village for religious rituals.
