Gujarat’s COVID-19 cases on the rise with 461 active cases

Gujarat has reported a rise in COVID-19 cases, with current statistics indicating a total of 461 active cases across the state as of Tuesday.
Out of these, 20 patients are hospitalised, while the remaining 441 are under home isolation. So far, 43 patients have been discharged, and the death toll stands at 1.
According to health officials, the recent infections are primarily linked to the Omicron sub-variants LF.7.9 and XFG Recombinant. Patients have been exhibiting mild symptoms such as low-grade fever, cold, and cough.
Authorities have advised individuals under home isolation to continue self-monitoring their health. They are urged to immediately seek medical assistance at the nearest health center if they experience breathing difficulties, chest pain, or any other severe symptoms.
People with co-morbid conditions or weakened immune systems are particulally advised to avoid crowded places or to wear a mask when stepping out.
Health experts highlighted that a rising trend in COVID cases is commonly seen every 6 to 8 months, and reassured the public that there is “no need to panic”.
Notably, Ahmedabad reported 50 new COVID-19 cases in one day. The city also saw its second consecutive COVID-related death in Ahmedabad in Monday as a 18-year-old pregnant woman from Vinzol died during treatment.
Earlier, a 47-year-old woman in Ahmedabad also lost her life at L G Hospital.
