Gujarati tourists in Mount Abu, Jaisalmer start returning following Indo-Pak conflict
The excitement of Gujaratis’ summer vacation trips has faded amid India-Pakistan border conflict.
Following a high alert in Rajasthan-Kutch, the areas that share a border with Pakistan, tourists from Gujarat who had travelled to Mount Abu and Jaisalmer during the summer vacation are cutting short their trip and returning.
Authorities have declared a blackout in Mount Abu and Jaisalmer for the next two days, following which several visitors have begun returning from their trips to Rajasthan and Kutch.
At tourist locations in Kutch, strict security measures have been put in place, including verification of ID cards and thorough inspections of visitors.
The Kutch collector advised citizens to stay indoors and observe blackouts on Saturday.
“All citizens of the Kutch district are advised to stay safely indoors throughout the day. People should avoid going out unnecessarily,” wrote Collector & DM, Kachchh on X.
“During the night as well, let us all voluntarily observe a complete blackout. There is no need to panic. Let us follow the instructions given by the administrative authorities,” they added.
In Rajasthan’s border regions, including Jaisalmer, restrictions have been imposed until May 15, prohibiting the flying of drones and the bursting of firecrackers at wedding functions and other events.
Furthermore, blackout guidelines have been announced in Mount Abu for May 9 and 10. Tourists from Gujarat and other states have been requested to return to their hotels by 7 pm and keep all lights turned off during the blackout period.
