Gujarati student found dead at his residence in UK
Meet went to London on a student visa in September this year for further studies
Like any other Gujarati, aspiring to see the world, Meet Patel, a farmer’s son from a remote village in Patan went to London on a student visa. However, his dream of making it big was cut short. On Nov 21, Meet was found lying dead in his room.
Meet went to London on a student visa on Sept 19 this year for further studies. Meet’s father, Pravin Patel, is a farm labourer at Ranasan village in Patan’s Chanasma taluka.
Since having moved to London, Meet had been in constant contact with his family. His family members say that he used to call them up every day.
However, after Nov 17, his parents had lost contact for almost five days. On Nov 21, they were informed about Meet’s sudden death, and that his body was recovered from his room.
While, the reason behind his death is unclear, but his family believe that he would have been killed after being kidnapped. Patel’s family members requested Bharatsinh Dabhi, a member of parliament from Patan, to bring back Meet’s dead body from London.
