Gujarati film ‘Misri’ cast seen performing stunts on Ahmedabad road, booked

The Ahmedabad Traffic Police have registered an FIR against the drivers of a jeep and a motorcycle, along with several unidentified two-wheeler and four-wheeler riders, for allegedly performing dangerous stunts and driving recklessly on Science City Road on Wednesday evening.

As per a video that went viral, the star cast of Gujarati film ‘Misri’ were allegedly involved in the stunts. The persons performing the stunts appeared to be actors Prem Gadhvi, Mansi Parekh and Tiku Talsania.

No permission was taken by the film unit to perform the stunts, the police said. So, the moot question is, will action be taken against the popular actors?

As per the complaint filed by Head Constable Hasmukhbhai Nathabhai of the A division traffic police, the incident took place around 7 pm on October 29. A video showing a convoy of vehicles — including a jeep and a motorcycle being driven recklessly on a public road went viral on social media.

The stunt-filled drive was allegedly carried out to promote the upcoming Gujarati film ‘Misri’, scheduled for release on October 31.

Police said the drivers were seen performing dangerous manoeuvres and speeding through public roads, endangering the lives of commuters and pedestrians. The vehicles were reportedly part of a group flaunting their participation in the movie’s publicity activity.

Based on the viral video, the police identified the vehicles and registered a case against the jeep driver, the motorcycle rider, and other unidentified participants for violating traffic laws and performing stunts on public roads.

A senior traffic police officer said that efforts are underway to trace the accused through vehicle registration details and CCTV footage from the area. The incident has also raised concerns about the growing trend of using public roads for social media and promotional stunts.

The FIR has been filed under sections related to reckless driving and endangering public safety. Further investigation is in progress.
