Gujarat youths trapped abroad after job scam seek government help

Ten youths from Vadodara district, including one from Sandhasal village in Savli taluka, have appealed to the Indian government for help after being stranded in Myanmar following alleged human trafficking under the guise of data entry jobs in Thailand.
According to the families, the youths were lured with promises of high-paying jobs but were instead subjected to financial exploitation and forced to work between 14 and 18 hours a day.
A victim from Sandhasal, Gunjan, managed to escape after recognising similarities with scams highlighted in a Gujarat Police awareness video.
Gunjan and other youths fled the company and eventually sought refuge with an NGO in Myanmar. Despite completing immigration-related formalities nearly 20 days ago, they have been unable to return home.
Families claim that around 10 youths from Vadodara and nearly 100 youths from Gujarat remain stranded in Myanmar, dependent on local NGOs and awaiting intervention from Indian authorities.
