Gujarat has completed 90% of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process for voter list. Preliminary data indicates that nearly 40.12 lakh entries may be removed once the revised electoral roll is published.

As per officials, the deletions include 15.58 lakh deceased voters, 21.86 lakh permanently migrated voters, and 2.68 lakh duplicate entries across the state.

Out of Gujarat’s 33 districts, most have completed 100% distribution of verification forms, while a few districts are in the final stages. Digitisation work has already been completed in two constituencies — Dhanera (Banaskantha) and Limkheda (Dahod).

As part of the 2025 electoral roll revision, counting forms were distributed to over 5 crore voters. During verification, more than 15.58 lakh deceased individuals and over 4 lakh voters found absent at their addresses were identified. More than 21.68 lakh voters were also marked as permanently relocated.
