Gujarat to send six IAS officers to promote Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit
These representatives will hold meetings with native industrialists and managing directors to fetch maximum investments with definite goals
Gujarat is gearing up to roll out the red carpet for the tenth Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) in Jan 2024, after a five-year gap due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The industries and mines department has assigned six IAS officers to promote the summit at the global level.
Who are the representatives?
Additional chief secretary of the finance department of Gujarat, IAS JP Gupta, will head for the USA and Saudi Arabia, while Dr Anju Sharma, holding the office of the labour, skill development, and employment department as additional chief secretary, will head to Singapore and Australia.
IAS Ashwani Kumar, principal secretary for urban development, will visit Japan with a delegation.
The secretary of the tourism department, IAS Hareet Shukla, will go to France and the USA.
The science and technology department’s IAS Vijay Nehra will be sent to Taiwan, South Korea, and Vietnam, whereas the vice chairperson of Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), Rahul Gupta, will leave for Italy.

These representatives will hold meetings with native industrialists and managing directors to fetch maximum investments with the set goals for Gujarat. A road show will also be organised in the respective countries on behalf of Gujarat to promote the event.
