Government officers showing outstanding performance in the administrative system will now be recognised with the ‘Atal Shasan Puraskar’ (Atal Good Governance Award) every year. Under the initiative, selected Class-1 officers will receive a cash prize of ₹31,000, while Class-2 officers will receive ₹21,000, along with a certificate of appreciation.
Performance To Be Assessed On Fixed Parameters
The selection of officers will not be based simply on their routine or general work. Their performance will be assessed according to pre-determined parameters and criteria established by the respective departments.
According to a resolution of the General Administration Department (GAD), separate evaluation committees will be formed in the respective departments to assess the performance of officers.
For evaluating the work of Mamlatdars, the committee may include the Taluka Development Officer (TDO), District Development Officer (DDO), Superintendent of Police (SP) and Resident Additional Collector (RAC).
Officers From Seven Departments To Be Considered
The award will cover officers from seven administrative departments:
- Health and Family Welfare
- Education
- Roads and Buildings (R&B)
- Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs
- Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities
- Panchayat, Rural Housing and Rural Development
- Revenue Department
Evaluation To Be Completed By November 30
For work related to the Panchayat department, the Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary or Secretary of the Panchayat department will chair the evaluation committee.
For Revenue department-related work, the Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary or Secretary of the Revenue department will head the panel.
The respective departments will have to complete the annual performance evaluation process by November 30.
