Steady Surge in Export Revenues
The financial year 2025-26 marked a consistent upward trajectory for Gujarat’s technology trade. The state's export performance built on previous figures of ₹2,584.11 crore in 2024-25 and ₹2,242.10 crore in 2023-24.
Alongside the export surge, imports by registered units in the state dropped sharply to ₹0.35 crore in 2025-26, compared to ₹7.70 crore in the preceding year and ₹4.54 crore in 2023-24.
Across India, 2,125 units operated under the STPI umbrella during 2025-26. Together, these units generated estimated national IT and ITeS exports of ₹7,73,898.97 crore against total imports of ₹9,960.26 crore.
Digital Reforms to Cut Red Tape
To accelerate growth and simplify operational compliance, the Union government automated key statutory workflows for technology firms. Key measures include automated SOFTEX filing and single-window approvals integrated directly with the Reserve Bank of India’s Export Data Processing and Monitoring System (EDPMS).
Routine regulatory hurdles were trimmed further by swapping case-by-case import permissions for annual blanket authorisations. Additionally, units selling into the Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) can now operate on self-declaration protocols rather than waiting for individual clearances.
