Gujarat SMC seizes over 14 kg of ganja worth over ₹7 lakh in Sabarkantha, 2 held

The State Monitoring Cell (SMC) of Gujarat Police has seized nearly 15 kg of ganja and arrested two persons during a raid conducted in Sabarkantha district.

According to SMC official, the raid was carried out on January 26 on a road near Jodfalo Vas in Ajavad village of Poshina taluka. Acting on specific inputs, the police intercepted the accused and recovered ganja weighing 14.84 kg, valued at approximately ₹7.42 lakh.

In addition to the contraband, police also seized two mobile phones worth around ₹20,000 and cash amounting to ₹2,550. The total value of the seized muddamal has been estimated at ₹7.64 lakh.

The arrested accused have been identified as Amraram alias Shankar Ajiyaram Laur (30), a resident of Chhapar, Sada Fali, Kagwas in Kotada taluka of Udaipur district in Rajasthan, and Mohan Somabhai Bubadiya (34), a resident of Ziznat, Sarpanch Fali, Kalikankar in Poshina taluka of Sabarkantha district.

A case has been registered under sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the State Monitoring Cell police station.

Police said further investigation is underway to trace the source of the contraband and identify other persons involved in the narcotics network.
