Gujarat shivers as winter tightens grip, eight cities below 15°C

Winter has begun to set in steadily across Gujarat, with cold northerly winds intensifying the chill statewide. Eight cities recorded minimum temperatures below 15°C on Monday. The coldest spots were Naliya and Dahod, both touching 10.8°C, impacting normal life.
Other locations that slipped below the 15°C mark on Monday night included Amreli, Vadodara, Gandhinagar, Deesa, Rajkot, Porbandar and Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad registered 14.8°C, which is 1.9°C lower than normal. The city’s daytime maximum also dropped to 29.7°C, a fall of 3.5°C from the seasonal average.
Five-day forecast
According to the IMD, Ahmedabad’s minimum temperature will hover around 15°C for the next five days. Experts indicate that the chill may ease slightly after November 20, but until then, winter intensity will persist across the state.
Mount Abu recorded the season’s lowest at 0°C. Meteorologists attribute Gujarat’s increased cold to a sustained flow of northern winds.
