The number of active Covid-19 cases in India crossed 6,491, with Gujarat reporting 235 new cases on Monday, bringing the state’s total active cases to 1,109.
In the last 24 hours, Gujarat recorded 235 new Covid-19 cases. With this, the total number of active cases in the state has reached 1,109. Of these, 33 patients were hospitalised, while 1,076 were under home isolation. Additionally, 106 patients recovered and were discharged. No deaths due to Covid-19 have been reported in the state in the past 24 hours.

Kerala leads with the highest number of Covid-19 cases in the country at 1,957, followed by Gujarat (1,109), West Bengal (747), Delhi (728), and Maharashtra (607).
The Union Health Ministry has pegged the number of active Covid-19 patients in India at 6,491.
As per reports, no deaths due to Covid-19 were reported in the last 24 hours, and 624 more patients recovered and were discharged. In contrast, on Sunday, 6 deaths were reported in 24 hours. Since January this year, Covid-19 has claimed 65 lives in the country.
As of May 22, the number of active patients nationwide was 257. In 2025 so far, a total of 6,491 active cases have been reported, with 6,861 patients having recovered.
