“To deny people their human rights is to challenge their very humanity,” quoted human rights activist Nelson Mandela, a believer of Gandhian philosophy.
Today, Dec 10 marks the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), celebrated as Human Rights Day. However, in Gandhi’s land of Gujarat, the figures of human rights violation remain unchanged.

What is Universal Declaration of Human Rights?
This landmark document enshrines the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being, regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth, or other status, as per the United Nations official website.
In the contemporary world, people’s fight for their basic human rights, sexual orientation and other rights prevails.
