Consistent funding for Gujarat Railway in union budget 2024-25

Gujarat has once again secured a substantial allocation of ₹8,743 crore for railway infrastructure development in the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on July 23.

This consistent funding will be directed towards enhancing connectivity, modernizing rail networks, and improving passenger experience across the state.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed the media that Gujarat currently has ongoing railway projects worth ₹30,826 crore. 

The overall budgetary support for Indian Railways has also seen a significant surge to ₹2,52,200 crore, underscoring the government's commitment to bolstering the nation's rail network.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh emerged as the top recipient of railway funds this year with a record allocation of ₹14,738 crore.
