In a massive state-wide operation, the Gujarat Police has completed a 100-hour special drive to verify individuals involved in anti-national and serious criminal activities over the past 30 years.

The drive, ordered by Director General of Police (DGP) Vikas Sahay, was launched following the recent arrest of terror-linked suspects by Gujarat ATS and the tragic bomb blast in Delhi.

According to DGP Sahay, police teams verified 31,834 accused persons across the state by conducting door-to-door checks. The list included individuals previously booked under the UAPA, TADA, NDPS Act, Arms Act, Explosive Act, and Fake Indian Currency cases.

Key Findings from the Verification Drive

11,880 accused (approx. 37%) were found at their listed addresses and their dossiers have been updated.

2,326 individuals were found to be deceased.

3,744 accused had changed their addresses; police will now verify them at their new locations.

4,506 persons are currently residing outside Gujarat

The DGP said that a special SOP will be implemented in the second phase to verify those living in other states and to prepare their updated dossiers as well.

After Gujarat ATS seized weapons and explosives from anti-national elements, and after the recent blast incident in Delhi, the police chief held a high-level meeting on November 17. During the meeting, Sahay directed all district and city police chiefs to intensify precautionary measures and complete the verification of all individuals linked to anti-national activities within 100 hours.

All police stations across the state conducted intensive field verifications and completed the task within the stipulated time. Authorities said the operation is crucial to keeping continuous surveillance on individuals linked to anti-national networks and strengthening state security.

DGP Sahay added that the mission aims to maintain permanent and strict monitoring over anti-national elements to ensure Gujarat’s long-term security.
