Gujarat NSUI to begin indefinite fast in Gandhinagar over NEET paper leak

Gujarat NSUI has announced an indefinite fast in Gandhinagar starting tomorrow, May 19, over the NEET paper leak issue that has sparked concern among students across the country. Raising the slogan, “We will not remain silent now”, the student body said the protest will be a peaceful yet strong movement inspired by the path of Mahatma Gandhi, as per reports.
The hunger strike will reportedly begin at 9 am at the Satyagraha Chhavni in Gandhinagar. NSUI has appealed to NEET aspirants and their parents to join the protest in large numbers in support of justice for students.
NSUI spokesperson Sudhir Rawal reportedly said that the movement aims to ensure strict punishment for those responsible for tampering with the future of students and to prevent such incidents from happening again. “Our struggle will continue until students get justice.”
The organisation has put forward three key demands:
Stop paper leaks: A mechanism to stop incidents of paper leaks of government and competitive examinations.
Strict action against the culprits: The scammers and the main conspirators who played games with the future of students should be brought under the ambit of the law and given the strictest punishment.
Justice for students: The government should take immediate appropriate and satisfactory steps in the interest of the aggrieved and hardworking students.
