BJP's Jashu Rathva wins from Chhotaudepur (ST) seat

BJP’s Jashu Rathva secured a victory for his party from the Chhotaudepur (ST) seat, defeating Congress’ Sukhram Rathva.

The Chhotaudepur Lok Sabha constituency has been dominated by tribal and is reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST).

While Rathva was leading with 6,75,986 votes earluer, Congress candidate Sukhram Rathva stood at 3,06,033 votes.

In 2019, BJP’s Gita Rathva won with 7,64,445 votes defeating Congress’ Ranjitsinh Rathva.

The easternmost district with over 75,704 hectares of forest area has been dominated by BJP since 2014.
