Gujarat local body polls: State announces presidents and vice presidents for 84 municipalities

After the completion of Gujarat’s local self-government election process, attention had shifted to who would take charge as the new presidents and vice presidents of municipalities, district panchayats, and taluka panchayats across the state. Ending the speculation, authorities on Monday officially announced the names of office-bearers for 84 municipalities.
Key appointments across Gujarat municipalities:
- In Khambhalia municipality of Devbhoomi Dwarka, Vijay Kanzaria was appointed president, Asha Luna vice president and Raj Pabari executive chairman.
- In Kapadvanj municipality of Kheda, Sejal Patel was appointed president, Neha Oza vice president, Narendra Patel executive chairman, Bhadresh Sutaria party leader and Jayshri Sharma whip.
- In Talala municipality, Bhupatbhai Hirpara was named president, Nisha Tanna vice president and Rajni Dave executive chairman.
- In Siddhpur municipality, Ranjitsinh Solanki was appointed president and Pramod Patel vice president.
- In Mundra-Baroi municipality, Bhojraj Gadhvi was appointed president, Asha Sorathiya vice president, Dhambha Zala executive chairman, Dilip Gaur ruling party leader and Prakash Thakkar whip.
- In Vijapur municipality, Kamini Patel became president and Dr Bina Patel vice president.
- In Visnagar municipality, Asha Patel was appointed president and Mahendra Thakor vice president.
- In Bhuj municipality, Sheetal Shah was appointed president, Bindiya Thakkar vice president and Kamal Gadhvi executive chairman.
- In Idar municipality, Ansuya Patel became president, Vinod Parmar vice president and Jinal Sagar executive chairman.
- In Bharuch municipality, Devendra Vasava was appointed president and Ruchita Rakesh Modi vice president.
- In Becharaji municipality, Narendra Patel became president and Hansa Bharwad vice president.
- In Veraval municipality, Naresh Gohel was appointed president, Hemi Jethwa vice president, Uday Shah executive chairman, Rita Tanna party leader and Jitendra Upadhyay whip.
- In Petlad municipality of Anand district, Kokila Talpada became president, Manisha Shah vice president, Jay Patel executive chairman and Dharti Patel party leader.
- In Una municipality, Harsha Rathod was appointed president, Mitesh Shah vice president and Ghanshyam Joshi executive chairman.
- In Bardoli municipality of Surat district, Nilam Vyas became president, Minesh Patel vice president, Jenny Bhandari executive chairman, Amarsinh Solanki ruling party leader and Dr Bhavin Chaudhary whip.
- In Mandvi municipality of Kutch, Varsha Joshi was appointed president and Mukesh Rabadiya vice president. Vijay Gadhvi became executive chairman, Vijay Chauhan ruling party leader and Jigar Dhayani whip.
- In Kadi municipality, Rajendrabhai Gajjar was appointed president and Smita Patel vice president.
- In Nakhatrana municipality, Vasant Vaghela became president and Damayanti Sendhani vice president. Chandansinh Rathod was appointed executive chairman, Savita Darji ruling party leader and Jagruti Thakkar whip.
- In Unjha municipality, Krima Patel was appointed president.
- In Himmatnagar municipality, Aruna Kadiya became president, Gopalsinh Rathod vice president and Rahul Patel executive chairman.
- In Chhotau Udepur’s Bodeli municipality, Umesh Rathva was appointed president, Panna Patel vice president and Jignesh Choksi executive chairman.
- In Rajpipla municipality, Shivani Mehta became president, Utkarsh Vasava vice president, Kuldeepsinh Gohil executive chairman, Pragnesh Rami party leader and Dharmesh Solanki whip.
- In Shehera municipality, Sheetal Parmar was appointed president, Himmatsinh Pagi vice president, Jacky Mulchandani executive chairman, Mahendra Pagi ruling party leader and Vijay Bariya whip.
- The appointments officially complete the leadership formation process in municipalities following the recently concluded local body elections in Gujarat.
