Gujarat Housing Boards issues notice for demolition of 3 schools in Ahmedabad

The Gujarat Housing Board has issued notices for the demolition of three school buildings in East Ahmedabad. The schools stand on housing board land, and the board has directed the schools to vacate the premises as soon as possible.
The affected schools include Tiny Tots, A B Vidhyalay, and Khyati Vidhyalay, all located in Bapunagar.
According to M D Patel, executive engineer of the Housing Board, these schools have been operating since 2005 on housing board land. Recently, the board received complaints from residents, conveyed through a letter from the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC), regarding the schools’ locations.
The notices require the schools to vacate the buildings within the next 30 days. If the buildings are not vacated by the deadline, the Housing Board will issue another notice and pursue legal action with the assistance of the police.
Concerns have also been raised regarding the education board’s decision to grant permission for the construction of these schools on housing board land.
