The Gujarat Home department accounted for 238 of the 538 corruption complaints received by the state’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) between June 1, 2022 and May 31, 2025 — nearly 44% of the total data tabled in the Gujarat Assembly.

In all, 200 complaints involving 225 officers working in various state government departments were received by ACB between June 1, 2024 and May 31, 2025. Similarly 202 complaints allegedly involving 226 officers in various governments were made to the ACB between June 1, 2023 and May 31, 2024. Moreover, 181 complaints were received by ACB allegedly involving 202 officials between June 1, 2022 and May 31, 2023.

In the most recent year (June 1, 2024 to May 31, 2025), the home department again led with 73 complaints involving 92 employees, followed by 31 complaints against 32 revenue department staff and 23 complaints implicating 24 employees in the Panchayat, Rural Housing, and Rural Development Department.

Out of 538 complaints in three years, 653 employees and officials were allegedly implicated in corruption offences.

Breaking down by employees, 450 out of 583 complaints—accounting for 77%—were against Class-3 employees across departments, involving 517 such staff. In contrast, only 13 complaints targeted Class-4 employees.

Higher ranks saw 32 complaints against Class-1 employees and 88 complaints against Class-2 employees. The state government informed the Assembly that chargesheets have been filed against arrested accused, while concerned departments have been directed to initiate departmental action against those implicated.
