Gujarat High Court stays GSSSB recruitment until Aug 8

The state High Court has suspended recruitment to the Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board until Aug 8. 

The order follows a petition by a candidate who questioned the government’s decision to set the minimum qualifications for the recruitment process at a score of 40% in the competitive exam. The High Court first issued a notice to GSSSB on May 8, asking that it explain its 40% policy. However, the state recruitment board has not responded, despite the court giving it six different occasions to do so.

As a result, the court on July 25 ordered the suspension of all recruitment processes based on advertisement numbers 213 through 224 — released in November 20203 — until August 8.
