Gujarat High Court gets bomb threat over email

Security tightened, gates sealed; bomb squad and dog squad deployed for intensive checking
Gujarat High Court was placed on high alert on Monday morning after an anonymous bomb threat was received via email, warning of an attempt to blow up the premises. Following the threat, security agencies swiftly cordoned off the complex and sealed all entry and exit gates.
According to police sources, the high court administration alerted the authorities immediately after receiving the email. Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and Dog Squad teams were rushed to the site and a thorough search operation was launched in and around the court building.
As part of the precautionary measures, all vehicles entering the premises were checked, and visitors were temporarily restricted. Senior officials from the Ahmedabad Police and Gujarat ATS reached the spot to supervise the operation.
While no suspicious object was found during the initial sweep, the police have taken the threat seriously and initiated a cyber investigation to trace the origin of the email.
Following the incident, the Gujarat High Court issued an official statement:
"Due to unavoidable circumstances, it has been decided to discontinue the functioning of the courts after lunch, i.e., after 1.45 pm. The courts are requested to inform the lawyers that proceedings will not continue post-lunch, and everyone is required to vacate the premises as early as possible to facilitate a comprehensive security check of the entire court premises."

While Ahmedabad senior police officials have reached with team to investigate the matter. Further investigation is underway.
