Gujarat HC orders Aniruddhsinh Jadeja to surrender within a month in Congress MLA murder case

Gujarat High Court on Friday ordered Anirudhsinh Jadeja to appear and surrender within a month in the Gondal Congress MLA Popat Sorathiya’s murder case.
Jadeja, who was sentenced to life imprisonment, was released from jail after his son wrote a letter to the then ADGP of the jail T S Bisht on January 29, 2018, requesting his release on remission. He was later released from the Junagadh jail on the ground that he had served 18 years in jail. . The high court has quashed that decision.
Sorathia’s grandson Haresh had filed a petition in the high court challenging the remission. He stated that the convict was illegally released even though he had served only 18 years in prison.
Currently, the police are on the lookout for Jadeja and his son Rajdeepsinh Jadeja in the Amit Khunt suicide case.
In 1988, on Independence Day, Popatlal Sorathiya, the Congress MLA of Gondal, was killed by Aniruddhsinh Jadeja during a flag hoisting programme.
For his crime, in 1997, Jadeja was booked under Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (TADA) act and was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Supreme Court.
