Gujarat GST revenue up by 15%, contributes ₹11,392 crore to nation

Gujarat, often known as the hub of business, contributed a significant increase in the centre’s goods and service tax (GST) income with ₹64,131 crore during the year.

The state’s VAT (value-added tax) stood at ₹34,156 crore.

Gujarat’s GST revenues during March 2024 stood at ₹11,392 crore, with a growth of 15% compared to last year. In Mar 2023, Gujarat contributed ₹9,919 crore in GST revenue.

The GST revenues of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu witnessed 46% growth compared to last year, with ₹452 crore in March 2024, as compared to ₹309 crore in March 2023.

According to government data, gross goods and services tax (GST) revenue for March 2024 in India witnessed the second-highest collection ever at ₹1.78 lakh crore, with 11.5% year-on-year growth.
