Gujarat govt transfers 35 TDOs, promotes 118 officials to Class-II posts

The Gujarat government has ordered the transfer of 35 Taluka Development Officers (TDOs) and promoted 118 Class-III employees to Class-II posts in the Panchayat, Rural Housing and Rural Development Department.

The reshuffle includes internal transfers of Class-II officers across various districts, along with promotions to the Gujarat Development Service cadre.

The promoted officials have been appointed as TDOs in the pay scale of ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400 (Level-8), the order stated.

Among key postings, Surendranagar deputy chitnish S I Jinjuwadia has been appointed as TDO of Barwala in Botad district, while Rajkot deputy chitnish Rakesh Rathod has been posted as TDO of Maliya Miyana in Morbi district.

The government has also cancelled some transfer orders issued in February, including those of TDO Geetaben Dhirubhai Shiroya of Wadhwan in Surendranagar district and TDO Partha Kumar Patel of Shehra in Panchmahal, along with five other officers.

Sources said promotion orders in the department had been pending for a long time, and a significant number of TDO posts, estimated at around 100, continue to remain vacant.
