Gujarat govt issues promotion orders for 5 senior IAS and 14 IPS officers

The Gujarat government has announced major promotions in the administrative and police services. As per an official notification released by the General Administration Department (GAD), five senior IAS officers of the 1996 batch have been promoted from the Principal Secretary grade to the rank of Additional Chief Secretary (ACS). The Home Department has also granted promotions to 14 IPS officers across DGP, IGP and DIG ranks.

IAS promotions

The following IAS officers have been promoted to the ACS grade (Pay Matrix Level 17 – fixed pay ₹2.25 lakh):

Mona Khandhar – Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department

Dr T. Natarajan – Finance Department

Rajiv Topno – Health and Family Welfare Department

Mamta Verma – Industries and Mines Department

Mukesh Kumar – Education Department (Higher and Technical Education)

IPS promotions

Promotions have been approved for 14 IPS officers at various levels.

DGP grade (Pay Level 16):

Narsimha N Komar – Vadodara City Police Commissioner; post upgraded to DGP grade

Dr Prafulla Kumar Roshan – Promoted to DGP (Armed Units)

Dr S Pandya Rajkumar – Promoted to DGP (Law and Order)

IGP grade (Pay Level 14):

Neeraj Kumar Badgujar – Appointed as Joint Police Commissioner, Ahmedabad

MS Sara Rizvi, Shobha Bhutada and Pradeep Shejul – Granted proforma promotions while on central deputation

DIG grade (Pay Level 13-A):

Dr Sudhirkumar J Desai – Promoted to DIG (Intelligence)

Shablaram Meena – ADC to the Governor promoted to DIG

Dr Karanraj Vaghela – Promoted as Additional Police Commissioner

S V Parmar – Commandant, SRPF Mehsana, promoted to DIG

A.M. Munia – Commandant, SRPF Godhra, promoted to DIG

IPS officers serving on central deputation, including Dr Vipul Agrawal (DDA, Delhi) and Saurabh Singh, working with government agency, have also been granted proforma promotions in their parent cadre.
