An important decision was taken in the cabinet meeting held today under the chairmanship of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel at Gandhinagar, in which the Gujarat Karmayogi Swastha Suraksha Yojana has been launched for all officers, employees and pensioners of the state.

Gujarat Government Spokesperson Minister Rushikesh Patel said that similar to the benefits available under the PMJAY-MAA scheme currently implemented in the state, all ‘Karmayogi’ will be able to avail the benefits under this scheme. All Karmayogi and pensioners of the state government will be given “G” series AB-PMJAY-MAA card.

The implementation will be executed by the PMJAY nodal agency SHA (State Health Agency).

Under this, cashless treatment up to ₹10 lakh per family will be available annually for treatment of prescribed procedures at government hospitals, government equivalent hospitals and PMJAY empanelled hospitals.

Furthermore, Out Patient Department (OPD) treatment will not be covered under this scheme.

The current monthly medical allowance (₹1,000) will continue to be available. For expenses exceeding ₹10,00,000 and in cases where the treatment procedure is not available in AB-PMJAY-MAA and the hospital is not empanelled in PMJAY, medical reimbursement will be available as per the existing system as per Gujarat State Services (Medical Treatment) Rules, 2015.

Currently, a total of 2,658 hospitals (private: 904, public: 1,754) are associated in the state under PMJAY-MAA scheme, covering 2,471 prescribed procedures.

All the officers and pensioners of All India Services (AIS) serving in the state, state government officers, employees, pensioners and their dependent families as well as all the employees who are eligible for medical reimbursement as per the existing system under the Gujarat State Services (Medical Treatment) Rules, 2015 will get the benefit of this scheme.

A total of 6.40 lakh employees, comprising approximately 4.20 lakh officers and employees of the state government and approximately 2.20 lakh pensioners, will get the benefit of health services and facilities under this scheme.

Fixed-pay employees are currently getting the benefit under the KarmaYogi Card. Pensioners aged above 70 will not be eligible for the benefit under this scheme as they are currently getting the benefit under the recently launched Vayavandana scheme.
