Which new talukas have been formed from the existing ones?
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is said to have discussed the matter during the cabinet meeting on Wednesday. The total number of talukas in Gujarat is now 265.
According to the government, this is to make governance more people-centric at the local level and improve the efficiency of the administrative system. With the formation of new talukas, citizens will not have to travel long distances for government-related work, saving both time and effort.
