Gujarat govt announces ₹7,000 Diwali bonus for Class-4 employees, 16,921 to benefit

Bringing festive cheer ahead of Diwali, the Gujarat government has announced an ad-hoc bonus of up to ₹7,000 for Class-4 employees.

The benefit will not be restricted to state government departments. Employees working in the offices of the Council of Ministers, Assembly Speaker, Deputy Speaker and other Assembly officials, along with those in Panchayats, universities, affiliated colleges, and grant-in-aid schools and colleges will also be eligible. 

Class-4 staff serving in various state boards and corporations, where bonuses are otherwise not disbursed, will likewise be covered.

According to official estimates, nearly 16,921 Class-4 employees are set to gain directly from this decision. The state’s finance department has been directed to issue necessary orders and guidelines to ensure timely disbursement.

Officials said the move will provide much-needed financial relief to employees before the festival season.
