Gujarat Government Transfers 144 Deputy Collectors, Other Class-1 Officers Across State

The Gujarat Revenue Department has transferred 144 Gujarat Administrative Service (Junior Scale), Class-1 officers with immediate effect, reshuffling senior administrative postings across the state.

The orders were issued from the Gujarat Secretariat in Gandhinagar on August 16, 2026, as part of a wide-ranging administrative exercise covering officers posted as Deputy Collectors, Provincial Officers, Deputy District Development Officers and District Supply Officers.

144 Officers Get New Postings

According to the Revenue Department notification, issued under reference number Namak/102026/1/D.1, all 144 officers have been transferred and given new assignments in the public interest.

The large-scale reshuffle covers administrative posts across several districts and departments, bringing changes to the field-level leadership responsible for revenue administration, development work and other government functions.

The transfers take effect immediately.

Earlier Orders Also Modified

The notification also includes changes to some earlier transfer and promotion orders.

In one such case, the department has cancelled the earlier transfer order concerning Amitkumar G. Gamit with original effect. Gamit will continue to serve as Assistant Director with the Sports Authority of Gujarat in Gandhinagar.

The latest notification therefore includes both fresh postings and amendments to previous administrative orders.

Orders Issued In Governor’s Name

The transfer orders have been issued by the Revenue Department on behalf of the Governor of Gujarat.

Sachin Patwardhan, Joint Secretary to the Government, issued the notification from the Secretariat, Gandhinagar, on August 16.

The reshuffle is expected to bring changes in the administrative functioning of several districts as the transferred officers take charge of their new assignments.
