The Gujarat government on Monday issued an order assigning additional responsibilities to six senior administrative officers as part of efforts to ensure the smooth functioning of the state administration.

The order was issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) following the retirement of several senior officials, which resulted in vacancies in key positions across various departments.

According to a government notification issued by Deputy Secretary Jaimeen Shah under the orders of the Governor, four Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and two Gujarat Administrative Service (GAS) officers have been entrusted with additional charge of important posts alongside their existing responsibilities.

The additional assignments have been made with immediate effect until regular appointments are made to the respective posts.

The names of the officers and the specific posts assigned under the additional charge arrangement were notified separately by the department.
