Gujarat government announces promotions of six senior IPS officers

The Gujarat government on Monday issued a notification announcing the promotion of six senior IPS officers, including officers currently serving on central deputation.
The promotions, cleared “in public interest”, take effect immediately, the Home Department said.
According to the notification dated 1 December 2025, Manoj Sashidhar (IPS, 1994 batch), presently posted on central deputation as Special Director with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has been granted proforma promotion to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP).
Raju Bhargava (IPS, 1995 batch), serving as Additional Director General of Police (Armed Units), Gandhinagar, has been promoted to the DGP grade and appointed to the ex-cadre post of Director General of Police (Armed Units). The post has been upgraded from the previous ADGP cadre post for this purpose.
Three IPS officers of the 2007 batch currently on central deputation Divya Mishra, Deepan Bhadran, and Saurabh Tolumbia have been granted proforma promotion to the rank of Inspector General of Police (IGP). The officers are currently serving in the Intelligence Bureau, the Cabinet Secretariat and GAIL (India) Ltd., respectively.
Additionally, P V Rathod (IPS, 2007 batch), Deputy Inspector General of Police, CID (Crime), Gandhinagar, has been promoted to the rank of Inspector General of Police. She has been appointed to the ex-cadre post of IGP, CID (Crime), following the upgradation of her existing DIG post.
The notification, issued in the name of the Governor by Chief Secretary M K Das, has been circulated to the offices of the Governor, Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, senior officials of the state Home and Personnel departments, central agencies including the CBI and IB, and police leadership across the state.
The promoted officers will assume their upgraded roles with immediate effect, the government said.
