Gujarat government announces in charge ministers for various districts

Following the recent cabinet expansion and reshuffle, the Gujarat government on Saturday has appointed ministers as in-charge of various districts to enhance administrative efficiency and ensure effective implementation of development schemes at the local level.

Under the new arrangement, nine ministers have been assigned two districts each, ten ministers with one district each, while six ministers have been given additional (co-incharge) responsibilities.

The move aims to maintain regional balance and strengthen both political and administrative control across the state. The in-charge ministers will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of welfare schemes, maintaining law and order, and addressing local issues in their respective districts.

By assigning ministers direct oversight roles, the state government expects smoother coordination between departments, faster decision-making, and more effective monitoring of development projects.

This step is seen as part of the government’s broader strategy to accelerate growth and improve governance across Gujarat.
