Gujarat general secretary Pradipsinh Vaghela resigns, party politics under heat
The resignation comes just a year before Lok Sabha elections
Will come out of this 'Agni Pariksha', says Vaghela
Just a year before the Lok Sabha elections, Gujarat general secretary, BJP’s Pradipsinh Vaghela, has resigned. His resignation was a much-discussed topic in the political circles of Gujarat for the last few days, and today, the same was confirmed by the party officials.
If the sources are to be believed, the general secretary had resigned a week before it was revealed, on the instructions of the state chief, CR Paatil.
Alleged ban from the ‘Kamalam’
There have been ongoing discussions about the alleged exile of Vaghela from the ‘Kamalam’, BJP Gujarat’s state office. Many even speculate an entry ban for him to the office.
Denying the discussions about his alleged ban from ‘Kamalam’, Vaghela said that such talks do not hold any truth at all. He reportedly stated that he will be going to the office today and tomorrow, too, calling it his second home.
Vaghela also said that this is ‘Agni Pariksha’, a trial by fire, and he will come out of it soon.
The echoes of the pamphlet controversy
Regarding a pamphlet controversy, Vaghela said that the state chief is also being targeted through him. The pamphlet controversy that started in Surat is also ongoing in Ahmedabad.
Many big names may be involved here, sources suggest. As for Pradipsinh Vaghela, it is speculated that he had complained to the special operations group (SOG) over the pamphlet controversy, which is under investigation.
The pamphlet controversy was about a pamphlet containing accusations of corruption against the state chief CR Paatil, and other leaders. The pamphlet was then sent to other BJP leaders, bringing the party's internal politics to the surface.
