Gujarat electoral body conducts special drive to streamline voter enrollment

In an initiative to maintain a precise electoral roll, the chief electoral officer (CEO) of Gujarat has announced a special correction and enrollment drive on November 17, 23, and 24.

Under this drive, the respective booth-level officers will be present across the state’s polling stations to issue the required forms. The forms will be issued from 10 am to 5 pm on the mentioned dates.

Forms will be issued for multiple electoral purposes, including registration on the electoral roll, corrections, and withdrawal of applicants’ names from the list.

Young citizens turning 18 till January 1, 2025, would be eligible to enrol as voters in this drive. Additionally, those turning 18 from January 1, 2025, to October 1, 2025, will be able to submit advance applications to enrol their names in the list.

The special drive on the given dates, which is to be implemented by the booth-level officers present at the polling stations, will be conducted under the supervision of the respective district electoral officials.

Moreover, the CEO, Gujarat, Hareet Shukla, among other state-level officials, will also supervise the smooth conduct of this initiative, and that the proceedings are carried out as per the directions of the Election Commission of India (ECI) and Chief Electoral Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar.

Apart from the above-mentioned dates, another drive will be conducted on November 28, where the applicants will be able to check their, and their family members’ names in the electoral roll at the District Collector Office and the office of the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO).

For all the above-mentioned services, applicants can also download the ‘Voter Helpline App’. The applicants can also head to the election commission website or the Gujarat CEO portal to fill out their respective forms.
