Gujarat elections: District wise voter count by 1 pm

The Gujarat Gram Panchayat elections began on Sunday morning at 7 am and will continue until 6 pm today. Across the state, 10,479 polling stations have been set up, and around 1.3 crore voters are eligible to exercise their franchise. The results will be announced on June 25.

Overall Voting: 28.68%

In Shehra taluka of Panchmahal district, elections are being held for 24 Gram Panchayats and by-elections in 3 Gram Panchayats. Voting is taking place at 68 booths under tight police security. Long queues of voters, including youth and elderly citizens, have been seen since early morning in villages such as Zoz, Mangalpur, and Guneli.

A total of 59,702 voters 30,463 men and 29,239 women are expected to vote in Shehera

alone. By 9 am, approximately 16% voter turnout had been recorded.

In these 27 Gram Panchayats, 80 candidates are contesting for the post of Sarpanch and 337 candidates for Panchayat member seats. 

As the voting is being conducted via ballot paper and not EVMs, enthusiasm among rural voters is notably high.

Due to the by-elections in the Kadi and Visavadar assembly constituencies, Panchayat elections have been cancelled in Kadi, Jotana, Bhensan, Visavadar, Junagadh Rural, and Bagasara talukas.

The dates for these elections were announced by the State Election Commission on May 28, 2025.
