Gujarat court awards 'double death penalty' to man who sexually abused, killed 7-year-old girl

A Khambhat sessions court awarded a ‘double death sentence’ to a man who raped and murdered a 7-year-old girl in Kanisa village in Anand.

In 2019, the accused Dado alias Arjun Gohel lured a 7-year-old girl, raped and killed her by strangling her to death. During the hearing of the case, Public Prosecutor Raghuveer Pandya presented strong arguments.

This heinous crime took place on October 28, 2019, in Kanisa village under Khambhat Rural Police Station of Anand. In this crime, a charge sheet was filed against the 24-year-old accused Gohel in a month and a half.

The girl’s body was found in a semi-naked condition behind a temple in Khambhat. Gohel was booked and jailed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
